Consider the above. These families are claiming they are owed compensation for the deaths of civilian contractors in Iraq. Civilian contractors are in a legal gray area. They aren’t part of the unified chain of command, they aren’t on US soil, but they are employed by US companies.

Question: what if any liability should be assessed?

There should be no liability. Going to work in a “War Zone” has implied risks and rewards. I am sure these guys were paid very well for accepting a dangerous mission. Should people that work in the forest be able to sue because they get a mosquito bite? Or if a bear attacks them? The USA is in a “war on terror” and as such these deaths, however unfortunate, are results of acts of terrorism and should be treated as such : it’s no one’s fault.

This country seems to think that everything bad that happens to them should result in millions of dollars. I burned myself with hot coffee, so I should make a million dollars, someone lost my favorite pants, so I should make $64 million dollars, need I continue?
